How To Get The Rat King Exotic Sidearm

The Rat King is an Exotic Sidearm in Destiny 2 with a very interesting Exotic Perk, it gets stronger when allies also have it equipped. This Perk stacks up to six times, meaning this can be an incredibly powerful firearm if enough of your Fireteam have it on them. Half the problem with this Exotic is actually getting it, so we’ve put together a little guide to help you on your way.

In order to even begin on your quest for The Rat King you need to have finished the story of Destiny 2, unlocking the Quest, Enemy of my Enemy, on Titan. Upon completing this quest you’ll be given an item called Rat King’s Crew, which sits in the Kinetic weapon slot, though it can’t be used as one. On this item you’ll find a riddle, the first of four which you’ll need to solve in order to get The Rat King. Half the time with these riddles is spent trying to figure them out, so we’ve put them all together with explanations so you can worry about actually completing them, not about what they mean.

Riddle 1 – ‘The Rat King’s Crew runs to and fro, good girls and boys know where to go, pick up your toys and daron your socks, on errands of woe, on errands we walk’ – So this riddle requires you to complete three patrol missions with a fireteam with at least one other Guardian in it. this is pretty self-explanatory, so get at least one other person on your team, maybe someone who also needs to get The Rat King and is at the same stage as you, and get Patrolling.

Riddle 2 – ‘The Rat King’s Crew goes arm in arm, to fight as one, to do no harm, so have your fun and run outside, rally the flag and we’ll never die‘ – This one is pretty easy, all you need to do is complete two Public Events with at least one other Guardian in your fireteam. I don’t think that needs much explaining.

Riddle 3 – ‘The Rat King’s Crew goes four and four, with good good fights they learn to score, then three as one they stand upright, return from past the wall and wanting more‘ – For this you need to complete two Crucible matches with at least one other Guardian in your Fireteam. This is also very simple, so hop into the Crucible in either QuickPlay or Competitive and you’ll be done.

Riddle 4 – ‘The Rat King’s Crew stands three as one, they see Night’s fall and fear it none, but watch the clock as you scale the wall, lest five remain hope comes for none‘ – For this you need to finish the a Nightfall Strike with at least five minutes remaining on the timer. The easiest way to do this is to wait for a Nightfall in which you know you can finish it in time comfortably. If you’ve got a bunch of other Guardians you regularly play with then it should be simple.

Each riddle you finish will pop up when it’s complete. When you’ve finished them all you’ll be have The Rat King, and hopefully so will your friends if you’ve been on this journey together. Let us know if you’ve got this weapon in the comments.
