Today, Iron Banner will return to Destiny 2 for the first time in Season of the Worthy. With this being a new season, there are a couple of changes. There’s also a new Legendary Bow to try and earn.

In their most-recent This Week At Bungie article, the developer explained some of the changes that are coming to the week-long event this season.

First things first, Artifact Power is disabled in Iron Banner. This means that the additional Power Levels that you’ve racked up from your Seasonal Artifact, this season it’s the Warmind Khanjali, won’t be applied to your Guardian in any Iron Banner matches.

If just two Power Levels separate you and another Guardian outside of the game mode, and those two levels are from your Artifact, the playing field is going to be levelled within any Iron Banner match. Of course the same is true of any Trials of Osiris matches as well.

This isn’t the only thing that’s new in Season of the Worthy’s Iron Banner though. This season we have the opportunity to earn another new weapon. This one is a Legendary Bow called Point of the Stag.

This is a new Legendary Bow, and to be honest it looks incredible. I think this stands a good chance of being even better than The Vow. We’ll get a guide for the quest to earn this weapon up as soon as we can. It should be fairly similar to previous seasons, in that progress can be made through every Iron Banner event. The quest will also probably have several stages, each one requiring you to make kills against Guardians in new ways.

The armour for this season looks phenomenal, I can’t wait to get my hands on the Hunter set.

Really though, none of this compares to the armour sets available from Trials of Osiris. Still, at least this week we have an event that should keep everyone busy whilst they wait for Trials of Osiris to start again at the weekend.

Let us know if you’re excited to try out Iron Banner again this season, what rewards you want to earn, and how the Power Level changes affect you in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.

Love Iron Banner. Miss the Sun Dial and Osiris. Hate that St. 14 has been given only Trials bounties. Seriously NOT enjoying the new Warmind, Season of the Worthy. Also how do we disable the quick tips banner while our spaceships are flying to the mission. This is a terrible addition.
