Mysterious Signals And 91 Rectangles
Over the weekend Bungie released a mysterious signal that Guardians have been going nuts over. There’s a lot to digest, but one of the most interesting parts of the signal is how it relates to the fall expansion.
Over the weekend Bungie released a mysterious signal on the official Destiny 2 Twitter account. Of course, all Guardians went nuts for this, losing their minds on something that will ultimately lead to a lot of new content in Destiny 2, we hope.
I spent a good long time listening to the signal over and over again, just to try and hear if there was anything suspicious, but I really couldn’t tell. In the end, all I had to go on was the excitement of the Guardians in the thread for the tweet, and that was enough to get me feeling pumped about today’s reset.
While we know that something big is going to be happening this week, because The Almighty is about to plummet into the Tower, no one has managed to actually uncover what is going to happen.
We’ve had rumours that Titan is going to be destroyed, or taken away as a patrol zone for a while at least. We’ve also had new, wrecked, versions of the Tower appearing to some Guardians. This shows that the Tower itself probably isn’t safe from a cataclysmic event that’s going to almost kill everyone left on Earth.
Unfortunately, no one can piece all this together beyond the fact that the Darkness pyramids, the owners of which may or may not be known as the Veil, are closing in.
There’s also the small matter of this year’s fall expansion. No one has any details on it, but Bungie has said that we’ll get details on both season 11, which will come as son as Season of the Worthy ends, and the fall expansion at the same time.
While there have been no solid leads from the signal so far, we do have a small one. It was found by a Redditor, but picked up by Eurogamer, which is where we found it.
The Redditor explains that they have found nothing in the signal so far. No surprises there. But they have ascertained that the signal is made up of 91 individual rectangles. 91 days from the 9th of June is the 8th of September, which would be the right time for the fall expansion to release.
The 8th of September is in fact a Tuesday, so it would make sense in terms of both a weekly reset, and an expansion launch.
Do you think this is correct? Let us know in the comments.

I really think that darkness is much more than just a new army that guardians have to fight. There are many of them that embraced the darkness (Shin for example) and they are not some mindless beasts that go on a killing spree just for the sake of it. Darkness is still a mystery to us, so I think it is best to wait for Bungie for more clues… or we find them ourselves.
