Is Bungie Going To Annihilate Titan?
Some new evidence that Guardians are honing in on seems to suggest that Titan is going to be annihilated from the system.
Titan is just one of the locations that Guardians can explore in Destiny 2. It’s not the largest, or the most interesting, but it’s home to a giant monster in the sea, and it looks pretty fantastic. With that said, it seems as though we many not be able to enjoy the liquid methane waters of the world for much longer.
Is Bungie Going To Annihilate Titan?
A while back, Destiny 2’s Game Director, Luke Smith, explained that Destiny 2 cannot keep growing forever. The game is already massive, and at some point there simply won’t be hard drives large enough to store all of the game’s data. With each new location comes a lot of new data to store, and if the world keeps growing, then all the content available needs to be stored somewhere.
With this in mind, Polygon has recently reported on an interesting community theory. The theory revolves around Sloan’s New Pacific Arcology Emblem, which now says that it is only available for a limited amount of time.
Other planets have similar Emblems, but none of them have the limited time caveat attached to them. While this could just simply mean that Bungie is refreshing the Emblem, it’s unlikely that they’d do that without also changing every other planetary Emblem.
Instead, Guardians believe that Titan will soon be destroyed. With the looming threat of the Darkness Pyramids, and the fact that The Almighty is heading towards Earth as part of Season of the Worthy, there’s every chance that Rasputin will do something rash.
Rasputin could well hit The Almighty in such a way that it veers off and smashes into Titan. This would destroy both the moon and the massive ship, but it would save everyone on Earth.
The real question, therefore, is why would Rasputin do this? Well, it’s pretty widely accepted that there’s a Worm God living in the oceans on Titan. This creature is said to be under the control of Savathun, who is a big bad in the Destiny universe.
If Rasputin is aware of the Worm God, then it’s likely that it would choose to use The Almighty as a sort of bomb to try to take it out. This would tie in with the destroyed Tower images that we’ve seen recently, since some of the debris from the collision in space would no doubt hit Earth at some point.
What do you think? Will Titan be destroyed at the end of Season of the Worthy? Or is something completely different going to happen? There’s still every chance that Titan will be invaded by the Darkness, making it impossible to go there. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Whoever told you that the Sea Monster on Titan is “widely accepted” to be a Worm God Under the control of Savathun is incorrect. Not to say it’s not the case but it’s not at all a widely accepted theory. It’s a Hail Mary at best.

I too have been an avid fan since D1 but over the last few months I have disappointed with the way bungie have been so concerned with adding more and more but not sorting out their issues. its letting us long term fans either trapped unable to play the game due to error codes 24/7 or sat at loading screens for 10 mins before getting kicked. This has happened to 1000’s of customers and I believe it’s time we were compensated for not getting the game we’ve paid £100’s for
