Rasputin Bounties Are Fantastic

With Season of the Worthy we now have access to Rasputin Bounties. These are the Bounties that you’ll pick up from within a Seraph Bunker. There are weapon Bounties too, but they’re not the ones that I’m talking about right now. The Rasputin Bounties are fantastic for two reasons, and they’re interlinked within the Bounties themselves.

What Makes Rasputin Bounties So Fantastic?

Normally, when you pick up a Bounty you know what you’re getting into. Lord Shaxx offers Bounties that task you with various activities within the Crucible, from simply playing a match in Rumble, to getting three kills quickly and doing a backflip. Zavalla too has Bounties, but again you know that they’re almost certainly all for Strikes, and progress won’t be earned for them outside of those activities.

There are other NPCs who offer exactly the same Bounties for other activities, such as Lord Saladin and even The Drifter. The thing is, you know what you’re doing with these, and you’ll avoid them if you don’t fancy playing that particular part of Destiny 2. I personally haven’t picked up a Gambit Bounty for a few seasons now, just because I barely play the game mode.

Rasputin Bounties are different. You can pick one up, and have a couple of options for completing it. Some objectives might require you to get Fusion Rifle or Hand Cannon kills on enemies, but they’ll add the caveat that killing Guardians in the Crucible with that weapon will grant better progress. In this way, these Bounties give you a choice about where you want to play in order to advance your level with the Seraph Bunkers.

Some of the Bounties go even further, with one objective tasking you with killing Fallen, and the other simply asking for you to play four Rumble matches. The stark contrast in how to complete the Bounty is where the beauty lies. It opens up the Bounties for any Guardian, giving them options that they like, rather than forcing them to play a certain activity because it’s relevant to the season.

Destiny 2 could do with more of this style of Bounty. While having activity-specific Bounties is good, and needed, we should also have a season progression system that’s linked to Bounties like those given by Seraph Bunkers at all times.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
