Destiny 2: The Series Is Coming

One Guardian is going above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to preserving Destiny 2 as it is for future Guardian generations. They’re making what effectively amounts to a TV show out of all of the Destiny 2 cinematics and content as they are right now. The reason for this is to make a record of what Destiny 2 is before it’s Vaulted and changed by Bungie. The trailer alone looks incredible.

Destiny 2: The Series is being recorded on PC, so it’s the best-looking version of the game possible. It’s also being played on the highest settings, with no HUD, so everything is as clear as it can be. The idea here is to create a much more cinematic experience, one that Guardians can watch in years to come and remember or realise just what Destiny 2 was in these first three years.

In total, the series will be 32 episodes long. Don’t worry, it’s not going to cover all of the grinding that you need to do in-between missions. Instead it’s just going to cover each mission, all of the story and lore in those, and every single cinematic.

Destiny 2 is going to fundamentally change on November 10. It’s going to become a completely different game. All of the content that we know and love will be shifted and transformed. Not everything will be in the game anymore, and some stuff will have just been changed into a completely new form.

For example, Shaw Han is now going to be the first thing you see when you start the game up. Guardians like me who remember loading up the game and starting with the Red War campaign will become a rarity. I don’t know how many Guardians even remember that day anymore.

I can’t wait for this series to release. It’s going to be a time capsule of a moment in Destiny 2’s history. All of those epic moments will be captured, meaning no matter ho much they change, we’ll always be able to look back at what was. I think this is important for so many reasons, but above all, Bungie won’t do it themselves. Guardians enjoy the story of this game, and capturing it like this is going to be an epic moment in its history. A point in time we can all refer back to.
