Is Two-Tailed Fox The Best Exotic Rocket Launcher?
Two-Tailed Fox is an extremely powerful Rocket Launcher which was added to Destiny 2 with the Forsaken expansion. The weapon has an interesting look and a lethal Exotic perk, but can it stand up against the competition in the game? Let’s dive in and find out. First we’ll be looking at Two-Tailed Fox’s stats.
Stats
The stats on Two-Tailed Fox are;
- Blast Radius – 70
- Velocity – 55
- Stability – 73
- Magazine Size – 1
- Reload Speed – 45
- Handling – 57
The hidden stats on Two-Tailed Fox are;
- Zoom – 20
- Inventory Size – 30
- Aim Assistance – 67
- Recoil Direction – 61
These stats are sat right in the middle overall. They’re good but not fantastic, but they’re also not completely useless. Just going from these you can see a fairly decent Rocket Launcher, but the perks, as usual, really do bring it into its own league.
Perks
The perks on Two-Tailed Fox are insane in some ways. These are the perks according to DestinyDB.
Exotic perk: Twintails – This perk makes Two-Tailed Fox shoot two rockets for every one in the chamber. One rocket is Void, the other is Solar, and they can track down your targets. This perk is bloody brilliant, making Two-Tailed Fox one of the best Rocket Launchers in Destiny 2 in general. When a Rocket Launcher tracks enemies they’re pretty damn powerful, but this is another level.
Confined Launch – This makes the launch parameters for the Rocket Launcher particularly stable. The effect of this perk is to increase Stability greatly, increase Blast Radius, and decrease projectile speed.
High-Velocity Rounds – This makes Two-Tailed Fox’s projectiles particularly light and quick. The effect of the perk is to increase projectile speed, and increase Reload Speed.
Play With Your Prey – This perk has to do with the effects of the two rockets the Rocket Launcher fires. The Void rocket suppresses enemies, and the Solar rocket causes damage over time.
Composite Stock – This gives Two-Tailed Fox a versatile, dual-purpose stock. The perk slightly increases Stability, and slightly increases Handling Speed.
Of course the weapons also has the usual kill trackers.
Is Two-Tailed Fox The Best Exotic Rocket Launcher?
Now we come to the comparison, and the core question of whether Two-Tailed Fox is the best Exotic Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2. The only competition is Wardcliff Coil, which we’ve also done an analysis on. At the time of writing that article there was no other Exotic Rocket Launcher to compare it to, but now there is.
Wardcliff Coil’s Exotic perk makes it fire a volley of rockets that utterly annihilate the enemy. I know you know this weapon because you’ve probably been killed by it in the Crucible multiple times. It’s a crazy Rocket Launcher that, in my opinion, is the basic definition of overpowered.
Two-Tailed Fox is better though. It doesn’t just launch multiple rockets, it launches with two kinds of damage that will track down and kill any enemy in your sights. The combination of both will guarantee some sort of damage being dealt to the enemy, even if it doesn’t kill them, allowing you to finish them off. If Wardcliff Coil is evaded, you’ve just wasted a shot with nothing to show for it.
There we have it, Two-Tailed Fox is the best Exotic Rocket Launcher in Destiny 2. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
