SUROS Regime is one of the exotics that’s made the transition from Destiny 1 over to Destiny 2. As such it’s already got a fan base out there, and there are new Guardians who are eager to use it if they can just get their hands on it. But is it the best exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2? Let’s take a look at the stats.
The weapon fires 600 Rounds Per Minute, has an Impact of 21, Range of 50, Stability of 49, Magazine of 25, Reload Speed of 67, and Handling of 68. The hidden stats are a Zoom of 16, Aim Assistance of 68, and Recoil Direction of 50.
These stats are fairly average for an exotic weapon, but there are still the Perks to go. Somehow this weapon is ranked #5 in PVP, so it must be good for some reason. Let’s have a look and see which of these Perks build up those stats.
The exotic Perk, SUROS Legacy, makes the bottom half of each magazine deal bonus damage, and any kills with it have a chance to restore health. The rest of the Perks are; Hammer-forged Rifling, which increases Range, Tactical Mag, which slightly increases Stability, increases Reload Speed, and slightly increases Magazine Size, Spinning Up, which increases the rate of fire the longer the trigger is held down, Dual Speed Receiver, which slows the rate of fire and increases damage when aiming down sights, and Hand-Laid Stock, which increases Stability.
These Perks pull the weapon up to scratch in terms of stats, but it’s in two key Perks that this weapon real comes to life. The exotic Perk is brilliant, allowing for increases damage with the chance to grant health recovery. Dual Speed Receiver is also pretty brilliant because it changes the way the weapon works. The combination of these Perks really does make using this weapon totally different.
With most weapons you get a Perk for aiming down sights or something else such as explosive rounds, but here you get a double load of Perks that brings you something wonderful.
The other exotic Auto Rifles are Hard Light, and Sweet Business. Hard Light is interesting because of the ricocheting rounds, allowing you to score kills around corners, but that definitely doesn’t bring it anywhere close to SUROS Regime. Sweet Business simply gets more accurate when you fire from the hip, which isn’t exactly an exotic Perk but there we go.
Ultimately SUROS Regime is probably the best exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2 because it’s got the most powerful exotic Perk. So far no Auto Rifle in Warmind has been discovered that rivals it but there’s always time. Let us know what you think in the comments.
