With Season of the Hunt we saw the return of Hawkmoon. This weapon might be Exotic, but it’s a legend among Guardians. Everyone has a story about using it in Destiny 1, and how they just got a clutch kill in the last seconds to win a PvP match. It was great to see it come back, but now Bungie needs to deliver on something even more infamous. No Land Beyond.
What is No Land Beyond?
Many of us, myself included, thought of No Land Beyond as a joke Exotic in the early Destiny 1 days. In a game where every weapon is a futuristic masterpiece, it was outdated. It looked old for a start, like a rifle from World War 2. The sight isn’t great, and it needs to be loaded between every single shot. You’re pulled out of the scope between shots, so you really have to have your wits about you to get a kill, or just be great at headshots.
However, after a while, a few of us realised that it could be amazing. You needed to get a body shot on someone before you could get a kill with the following shot, but a bunch of us developed this skill and rampaged through the Crucible. I remember going on a huge stink with this weapon, it was great fun. Outside of Icebreaker, it might even be my favourite Exotic sniper rifle.
Now though, we’ve got nothing like it in Destiny 2. We have no outdated rifles threatening to ruin the aesthetic, and I think that should change with the next season of Destiny 2.
Bungie is going to bring a legacy Exotic back, they have done with every season, so why shouldn’t it be No Land Beyond? It’s a piece of the past that Guardians could use to defeat some sort of ancient Hive evil. How awesome would it be to be using something that looks so unseemly?
Imagine that the Hive somehow block all Light from the Traveler. This weapon could be our only way to defeat a giant boss, and it would be the greatest piece of Destiny history ever, at least in terms of seasonal content.
Let us know what you think about No Land Beyond in the comments.

Without a doubt, I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been clamoring for Destiny 2 to usher the far over due and long awaited return of the aforementioned….No Land Beyond. The carbine style sniper that when you lined up onto an opposing Guardian in crucible, they knew those Iron Sights were on them from the distance by the ice through their veins, knowing the excruciating dread that kicked in the split second before NLB cracked off putting a round through their dome. I, like so many fellow Guardians, loved especially with my Hunter, posting up in area cross mapping enemies with sheer precision in PvE, not to mention the sheer rush and thrill to cross map and/or quick scope opposing Guardians in Crucible through that glorious reticle, honing my precision further everything match good or bad. Yes, admittedly NLB’s Iron Sights have a slightly obnoxious learning curve that can cause severe hatred for the firearm in the hands of new wielder’s when in high stress combat, I know I had my moments more than a few times where I’d of tossed it away as a trash exotic till real life marksman teachings kicked in during a Crucible match, halfway through with my team being stomped the epiphany hit me as I switched from my handcannon to my presumably equipped Scout Rifle, of which in the anxiety of the moment mistakenly failed to realize was actually No Land Beyond, and what should have been a full on disastrous mistake instead became my moment of clarity with No Land Beyond akin to placing Scythe into the Reapers hands, as in that moment presumably thinking I’m using a Scout Rifle, I treated NLB as such until the forced reload but my mind somehow didn’t register what was happening correctly from my anxious state so by instinct I quickly sighted in, lined up, and crack! Gaurdian down! Enemy team hadn’t any initial idea where the shot originated between being a cross map distance nor was my location compromised from light reflecting off a scope lens. Being Elimination, the urge to revive their teammate opened the door for my fireteam to rally, laid a killing field and a full on comeback win.
That may be the initial shock to the system that changed my view and usage style for No Land Beyond but it’s certainly not just one of a few memories but rather just in its own category of countless subject groupings when it comes to No Land, and Bungie should….no, Needs…. no… BUNGIE, Without Any doubt nor Further Hesitation by the bequest of hundreds of thousands of faithful Gaurdians, You claim to hear us, and honor our Views and Input, well Honor us now, bring back the Bolt Action Beast, Iron Sighted Inihilator, Single Shot Shogun….the.. No Land BEYOND!!! We face a new era of possible destruction in the Hands of the Hive harnessing abilities mirroring our very own, the same we’ve used against them for so long. And though we have Stasis, it’s still not understood fully by Guardians nor do we have full comprehension of whether the Hive have hidden it within their arsenal of new found power let alone if they’ve honed Stasis to a more dangerous degree then Guardians have. No Land Beyond isn’t a weapon of the current age, its not even of Golden Age, but older, something that could prove vital as with lacking elemental capability it also lacks restrictions, except for one…. the only restriction being how quickly a Guardian can chamber, rack, and accurately sight a target to punch a hole in them, rinse & Repeat
Bring back No Land Beyond
May the Light Guide you in the Dark, Guardians
Hunter Master Race 😁😁 Happy Hunting
