Sit down, it’s time to delve into more lore.

Mithrax & Eramis- A Tale of Two (Fallen) Houses
Destiny 2: Beyond Light

In under three weeks, we’ll be touching down on Europa and there’s no better time than now to become accommodated with our newest foe, as well as catch up with an old friend. However, not much is known about the mysterious Eramis, the Shipstealer, besides what we learned on our first encounter with her band of Fallen back during Year 2. On the other hand, we have Mithrax, the Forsaken, Destiny’s first enemy turned ally, has a story reaching back to our days hunting Skolas for Mara Sov. Before I give too much away let’s dive into the lore and speculations behind Eramis and Mithrax.

DISCLAIMER: Not all of the information provided is lore. Some of which is speculation for things to come. By no means am I attempting to mislead anyone with false lore entries.

Wolves rebel. Now, Wolves extinct. This where-live mine-things scatter must end. I will Kell the mind-open Eliksni. No spider-tricks. No loyal-lies. Variisis truths. We fight for Great Machine together.

Mithrax, The Forsaken

Before Destiny

Fallen House Banners

Our story begins before our Guardian’s resurrection with a Vandal under the House of Wolves. This vandal was named Misraaks and after Skolas is captured he would go to the Dreaming City under the orders of Mara Sov, pseudo-Kell of the House of Wolves leading into the House of Wolves expansion in 2015. While Misraaks was a mere vandal, Eramis was a baroness under the House of Devils. During Skolas’ rampage on Twilight Gap, Eramis would be captured and given a life sentence in the Prison of Elders, and would not be seen or mentioned for a very long time. While in the awoken homeland, Misraaks would befriend Sjur Eido after the Queen’s Wrath stopped the vandal’s suicide attempt. Sjur Eido would teach the vandal of the joys of life as well as what it means to have purpose; he would rename himself Mithrax as a start of a new life that he would not waste.

Reunification

After the SIVA Crisis caused the House of Devils to collapse and most every house was left without leadership the reunification began. This act saw all of the fallen united under one banner, the House of Dusk. During the Red War, our Guardian would encounter the new house on the EDZ, Nessus, and Titan which would lead us to meet Mithrax, the Forsaken. Mithrax was a captain under his new house and was combatting the Hive on Titan. During the mission Chances and Choices our Guardian would encounter the captain and would spare his life. Mithrax would not forget this sign of mercy and would depart from the house of dusk in search of a higher calling.

Mithrax, The Forsaken

Last Call

During the riot at the Prison of Elders, that would cost Cayde-6 his life, our Guardian wouldn’t just see one enemy released. While the scorn barons were first on the chopping block, another threat escaped during the Last Call mission. Eramis, for the first time since Twilight Gap, was free. The Shipstealer’s first mission was to reform the House of Devils with her as Kell.

Zero Hour

Zero Hour Mission Trailer

During the events of the Season of the Drifter our Guardian would discover a Fallen Transponder on Titan, and after retrieving all of its nodes would lead us to the Farm. Waiting at the Farm was Mithrax, who would tell us of a heist occurring at the Old Tower to steal a weapon containing SIVA. Leading this Heist was a fallen splinter cell claiming to be the House of Devils. Eramis had mustered a small army under her new House of Devils and began seeking more power. Determined to rise where the splicers failed, Eramis sends Siviks to steal Outbreak Prime (now Outbreak Perfected) from the rubble of the Old Tower. Mithrax would befriend our Guardian and pledge his allegiance to the last city in order to stop another SIVA crisis from occurring. At the missions end, the Guardian and Mithrax would kill Siviks, Loyal to Eramis, and reclaim the Outbreak Perfected for the Vanguard. Following these events other fallen began deserting the House of Dusk to align with the Last City. Mithrax would form his own house; rumored to be the House of Light, where he would be Kell. This would be the last time we see Mithrax.

The House of Dark

Eramis, Kell of Dark

Eramis, after her defeat in Zero Hour, would rally her fallen on Europa to unearth it’s secrets. Eramis would discover the pyramid and begin attempts to wield the darkness, a taboo among Eliksni, as revenge for the Traveller’s betrayal. Officially, our Guardian is yet to learn of Eramis and the House of Dark’s activities on Europa, but soon we will be receiving a message from Variks, the Loyal, informing us of the occurrences on the icy moon.

Eramis, The Shipstealer by Gammatrap

Will the Houses of Dark and Light clash in Destiny 2 Year 4? We can’t be sure yet, but I have a feeling Mithrax will play a part in Beyond Light, playing foil to Eramis. With the final Interference mission complete and the Darkness’ message more clear, it’s only a matter of time before we strap on our snow boots and trek deep into the frigid darkness to remind Eramis why Guardians are to be feared.

I am, what many would call, a Destiny veteran spanning back to when we first dropped into the Hellmouth to take out Crota. In the coming years I would realize this game was a focal point in the development of my life creating many memories with friends and even helping pull me through some of the roughest patches I went through. When I’m not playing Destiny or writing, however, I’m working as a 3rd shift CNA or effortlessly teaching my fiancé how to play as well (hang in there baby you’re doing great). That’s about all I have to say. Hope you enjoy!!!
