Trials Of Osiris Won’t Be Back In Destiny 2 Until December 18
Remember that glitch? Yea, Trials isn’t coming back for a while because of it.
A couple of weeks ago we reported on a brand new Crucible glitch that some serious Destiny 2 Guardians were expecting to cause havoc in Trials of Osiris. Well, it turns out they were right. Bungie has now confirmed that Trials of Osiris, the super-competitive PvP mode in Destiny 2, won’t be back until December 18, 2020.
If you’re not aware of what this glitch does, let me give you a quick explanation. It’s a glitch that you can perform, with a 100% success rate, through a collection of sequential actions in-game. It will make you invisible and invulnerable to the enemy in PvP. They literally cannot see or hit you. You won’t even appear on their radar. The problem is, you can see them and shoot them just fine. It’s an absolute nightmare for those who want to play legitimately.
As expected, Bungie has found the glitch, though they’re being sensible and not drawing more attention to it. While they haven’t come out and said it, I’m almost certain that it’s the reason Trials of Osiris still hasn’t returned.
Bungie is doing what they think is best in keeping Trials of Osiris out of Destiny 2 until they’ve fixed this. We all get it. The issue is that there’s no alternative pinnacle PvP activity for those who just want to shoot other real Guardians.
If Bungie were to introduce more PvP content, this probably wouldn’t be such an issue. the Guardians the issue affects just want something new in PvP, they don’t necessarily need a new pinnacle activity.
Luckily, the Iron Banner has returned this week. That’s something to keep the PvP crowd busy for a while. Still, it’s not enough if we’re talking about the longevity of Destiny 2. We need something that’s more than a plaster for just the latest issue in Trials of Osiris.
At this point, I have to wonder if Bungie is still running the same Trials of Osiris tech from Destiny 1. that was a hot mess, and everyone knows it. If they are, it’s little wonder that the game mode is bugged out in Destiny 2 as well.
