Is The Solstice Of Heroes 2019 Armour Worth The Grind?
Bungie have revealed a number of details about Solstice of Heroes 2019. Last year the event was quite a big success with Guardians, but this year the grind seems to have returned. So we’re here to give you a good idea of whether it’s worth grinding for the Solstice of Heroes Armour during the event in 2019. Check out the Solstice of Heroes 2019 trailer below, and read on for more.
As with last year, Solstice of Heroes 2019 is bringing Solstice Armour with it. This will initially be given to Guardians as a Common set, known as the Drained variant. This needs to be upgraded to the Rare variant, called Renewed, and eventually the Legendary variant, named Majestic. Of course to progress through these sets, you need to complete a number of objectives for each piece of armour.
The objectives haven’t been listed by Bungie, a recent datamine has shed some light on what we’ll have to do in order to upgrade the armour. To get it from Drained to Majestic we’ll have to complete objectives for each piece of armour, and these will more than likely relate to ‘Meditations’ in the Tower. I predict that, just like last year, these Meditations will be reworked versions of missions in Destiny 2 which we will have to complete. Just like last year, these missions will be more challenging on their own, but they’ll be made even more challenging by the fact that we have to complete them with low Power Level armour equipped.
Initially I don’t think these objectives will be too difficult, but to get to the Legendary armour set there’s going to be a serious grind. There’s also a grind from this Legendary armour set to get every piece of armour Masterworked.
European Aerial Zone
The European Aerial Zone is a brand new activity that’s part of Solstice of Heroes 2019, and will be available for us to run through for powerful rewards. I think this activity is going to play into the Solstice armour upgrades, so there’s a good chance that we won’t only be taking part in these reworked missions in order to upgrade out armour.
Is Upgrading The Solstice Armour Worth The Grind?
One key point that Bungie have come out with has made me think that yes, it is worth grinding all the way up to the Legendary armour set, Majestic. This armour set will be the first one that’s made available in Shadowkeep as part of Armour 2.0. This means that Guardians can wear it, and it will be viable, for the whole of Destiny 2 year 3. This is really big news, because every other piece of armour will become obsolete with Armour 2.0.
Knowing that this armour took some serious work, and the fact that you can purchase glows for it as well, makes it very much worth the grind in my eyes. More than most Exotic weapons, I want this armour, and I’m going to do everything I can to get my hands on it from the 30th of July, when Solstice of Heroes 2019 kicks off.
