Take A Look At This Awesome Felwinter Fan Comic

The Destiny 2 fan art scene is one of the best in gaming, but this piece really is something else. One Guardian has used the lore surrounding Felwinter to visualise their past.

Felwinter’s Lie was the most recent Destiny 1 weapon to be brought forward into Destiny 2. Not only that, the quest to get the weapon actually opened up the chance to climb Felwinter’s Peak once more, something that has been somewhat of a pilgrimage for Guardians since Rise of Iron released.

Now though, with Felwinter’s Lie in our hands, and all of the lore surrounding this character out there to collect, one Guardian has started to visualise the Iron Lord’s past.

The Guardian known as Alikamoon on Reddit created the following fan comic, and it really is awesome.

As you can see, this tells a very early story from Felwinter’s life, or second life if you’re looking at it from the perspective of Ghosts being around. It uses the lore page called “THE BEGINNING PAT II” from the book known as “The Liar”. This is something that you can also pick up in Destiny 2, you just need to get out there and look for it.

You probably have a few questions about the art, so let’s answer them all here. First, yes this is Felwinter without his helmet. Alikamoon wanted to imagine Felwinter without the helmet, since this is very early Guardian days.

They used a description from Radegast to inform their version of Felwinter. “Felwinter stood next to him, silent, unreadable. Unlike other Exos Radegast had seen, he didn’t seem to have any emotion mods beyond the factory setting defaults. It was unnerving.

This informed the head design for Felwinter. The skull is maximum solid, and has no mechanical eyebrows or cheeckbones to allow emotional conveyance. Apparently one of the early concepts for Felwinter used these features as well, which further cemented this design.

Now, there is a mention of Felwinter’s colour in some of the game’s lore. “An Exo, eyes glowing in its sleek black skull, stood just beyond them.” But here we can see that this look of Felwinter has used Rasputin’s colour scheme, which is because most Guardians believe that Rasputin created him.

We think that this looks amazing, and we can’t wait to see if any more pages from Destiny 2 lore are made into comics. We’ll keep you updated as and wen we find them.

Let us know what you think of the comic in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
