Some Destiny 2 Guardians Make Pumpkins, Others Make the Book of the Forgotten

You’re all no doubt aware that for some crazy reason, Bungie nerfed the rate at which you can collect pages for the Book of the Forgotten. It’s likely that the nerf is a result of Guardians plowing through the Festival of the Lost quest way too fast and grabbing Jurassic Green much sooner than expected. I’ll admit, this seems pretty cheap, even for Bungie, extending a quest through artificial means, but it is their game at the end of the day. Anyway, that’s not the point of this article. The point is that one incredible Guardian out there has taken it upon themselves to make a Book of the Forgotten that’s so powerful even Bungie can’t nerf it.

Over on the Destiny 2 Subreddit, user ProfessorLaser posted about their own Book of the Forgotten. It’s a replica made of foam, but it’s also the real deal, at least in part. They took all the designs from images in the game and pulled them together to create their very own replica. It looks the part, and I have to say that it’s a stunning representation of what’s achievable when you put your mind to something.

One of the best comments I’ve seen on this thing is that it definitely took ProfessorLaser under 30 hours to make, which I’m sure is right. Even taking your time, this thing could be done pretty fast if it’s all you’re working on. Thinking about the state of the pages you have to collect in-game now, it’s just a joke.

I know that this wasn’t made as a big middle finger to Bungie, but it sort of is one in a way. The game is now so artificially crafted to manipulate Guardians that it’s easier to make the stuff in real life. I imagine that in the same 30 hours you could get all the pages done too. I’d stain them with tea bags personally, but I digress.

All this shows me is that Guardians have the most wholesome ways to say screw you to Bungie. Of course, we all love Bungie at heart, but when it nerfs quests like the Book of the Forgotten for no reason other than forcing you to play the game more, I really can’t be bothered with it.
