Fallen Babies are the Cutest and Most Dangerous Thing in Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer

Kill them or their parents, you’re still a monster.

Fallen Babies are the Cutest and Most Dangerous Thing in Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer

Ever since the release of the trailer for Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer, you Guardians have been going absolutely nuts for Fallen Babies. I’m not talking about a concept here. We all know that the Fallen reproduce in some way, but no one has actually thought about how damn cute the babies could be until now. With the season fully in swing now, it’s time that we all acknowledge the true danger these cute little things represent.

First, Fallen Babies are still Fallen. They represent a threat. Guardians have been the enemy of their parents for so long that they know no different. Why not just kill them while they’re young? Because no Guardian is that monstrous. It’s impossible to kill something this cute, and I’m pretty sure the entire community would force Bungie to exile whoever did.

Second, Fallen Babies are cute. Too cute. They’re so cute that they’re distracting, and that’s incredibly dangerous for any Guardian. If we’re distracted, we’re not going to be able to finish off our enemies. We won’t focus on the Vex and all the issues they’re causing. It’s not good for Guardians to be exposed to something like this.

Finally, Fallen Babies, like all babies, are explosive. If you handle them wrong, you’re going to end up covered in Fallen poop, and no one wants that. To quote a Guardian on Reddit “Ugh. That one covered me in… what is that?” —Crow

Bungie has done wonderful things with world-building in Season of the Chosen and Season of the Splicer to date. Destiny 2 feels like it has a fully realized universe now, not just something that’s intangibly linked with wider lore. I love seeing little things like Fallen Babies explode in the community because it means that we’re all identifying with the little things. These are the things that matter when it comes to making a game feel like a world you’re stepping into. If Bungie can keep this up, I think Destiny 2 might be a much more popular game in 2022.

Let us know what you think of Fallen Babies, and how much you love them, in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
