Destiny 2 Needs a Stasis Bow

Come on Bungie, give us a giant icicle.

Destiny 2 Needs a Stasis Bow

We managed to get through the entirety of Season of the Splicer without a Stasis bow and now I have to question if Bungie really knows what it’s doing. Of course they do, but this seems to be the one point on which the developer has dropped the ball a bit. This is the one thing that I think Guardians want from Stasis more than anything. A huge icy bow that’s capable of firing what equates to an icicle at enemies, maybe even pinning them to the spot or a wall or something.

Why do we Need a Stasis Bow?

Stasis weapons are now coming into the main loot pool with Season of the Lost, but we’re not seeing a Stasis bow yet. It’s a pretty big gap in the market that Guardians are looking for. It would be an easy win for Bungie, and all Guardians would be very satisfied to finally get their hands on such a powerful and icy monster. It’s a win-win situation yet Bungie seems to be holding out. I can only assume that this is because it has plans to implement an Exotic Stasis bow further down the line. That would be sweet.

Imagine an Exotic Stasis Bow

Bungie could give us something incredible in an Exotic Stasis bow. Imagine a giant piece of ice forged from Europa that fires Icicles at enemies. It wouldn’t be the first bow to have infinite ammo, and now that primary ammo is infinite in more forms, it makes more sense to have a weapon that our Light would effectively be replenishing. Just think about how cool you would feel pulling back the string, hearing the ice cracking, and then seeing that icicle fly towards an enemy and pin them to a wall.

This is where I think Bungie could make the most of this gimmick really. Shooting an icicle is cool in almost every capacity. You can’t go wrong with it. An Exotic Stasis bow could have an insane Intrinsic Perk that causes enemies to be stuck against a nearby wall for a few seconds if they’re hit just right. I also think there should be some sort of passive effect to it, such as every shot you land charging up a powerful icicle you trigger by holding down the fire button.

Let us know if you think Bungie needs to make this in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
