Savathun is Not the Final Enemy Guardians Will Face in Destiny 2’s Saga of Light and Dark

There’s something worse than Savathun out there.

Bungie is currently building Savathun up to be the biggest bad we’ve ever faced in Destiny 2. In fairness, she’s been a baddie for a long time. She controlled Uldren and caused a huge situation in The Dreaming City. She then controlled Osiris and killed a questionable character, and she’s been the influence behind a lot of the Hive’s actions in general over the past few years. Now though, she’s building up to come out of The Dreaming City and present a threat like nothing else we’ve ever encountered. The thing is, she’s still not as bad as what’s to come.

Savathun is the threat we’ll face and hopefully kill in The Witch Queen expansion. She’s going to be throwing all sorts of madness at us, but then her Throne World will still be around, I assume. I wonder if this place is then going to be inhabited by something else, or if we’re not actually going to kill Savathun. If we don’t kill her, then she’ll be around in some shape or form to bug us for the next year until Lightfall comes along.

Lightfall is going to be an interesting expansion. As the name suggests, I reckon we’ll be seeing the loss of Light, possibly the Traveler. This will force us to get in bed with the Pyramids to work against a new threat, potentially a huge Worm God. These creatures have always had their own motivations, and infinite power is probably what they want.

The Final Shape is the last expansion in the Light and Dark Saga in Destiny 2. That expansion is the one in which we’ll face this final baddy, the Worm God or whatever else Bungie has planned for us. This may see the introduction of a new race that we’ll be fighting in the next Destiny 2 saga, but I just don’t know yet.

The sure thing is that right now, Savathun is the biggest enemy we have. We need to fight her and beat her because she’s going to leave us weak enough for something else to finally take its opportunity to attack. I don’t like that we’ll be pushed to the brink, but we were with the Red War, and we’ve never been better.

Let us know what you think the final big bad in Destiny 2 will be. Do you know something that we don’t? Or do you just have a good theory? We’d love to hear them all.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
