Lucky Pants is a piece of Exotic leg armor in Destiny 2. It’s nothing that new to the game, and it’s been sold by Xur more often than not as filler content. However, there’s a lot of buzz around this piece of armor right now. With that in mind, we’re going to walk you through how to pick this armor up and what it’s good for once you have it in your inventory.
How to get Lucky Pants in Destiny 2
There are only two ways to get this armor in the game, and you’ll know them off by heart by now. The first is as a random drop as a reward. This is the same for pretty much all loot in the game, but Lucky Pants are particularly rare as a drop, even among Exotics. I’ve never had them drop myself, and I’m a Hunter main. Instead, I’ve used the second option to acquire them. Xur. that’s right, the tentacle-faced alien sells this armor for Hunters more often than not. Keep an eye on his wares every week and you’ll probably find them.
Are Lucky Pants Good in Destiny 2?
So now you’ve got your Lucky Pants, but are they actually any good for your play style? The Intrinsic Perk, Illegally Modded Holster, loads a round into stowed Hand Cannons for every precision hit you land. It doesn’t sound fantastic, but that’s only because you’re not thinking about how many Hand Cannons you could have on you at a time.
If you’ve got a build that uses a Hand Cannon in both your Kinetic and Special weapon slots, then this armor really comes into its own. Suddenly, you can kill enemies and deal precision damage with no reload time whatsoever. If you can land eight shots, that’s eight bullets loaded into your empty Hand Cannon in your other slot. Swap weapons and repeat the process, then again and again until you run out of ammo.
There are so many Hand Cannons that this would work well with, but the ones that spring to mind are Sunshot and Crimson. Each of these uses precision shots in some way, and by combining one of them with a Legendary Hand Cannon, you can give yourself a loadout that will be the envy of all of your opponents.
Taking this into Trials of Osiris is even more powerful because you’ll be able to shoot faster than anyone else, and probably take out every single enemy before your teammates have even joined you.

This isn’t news. This is the largest stretch of an article that could have been written. There has to be other things you could write about instead of how to acquire a 3 and 1/2-year-old exotic armor and how attempting to teach the reader how they work. You’d at least be better off describing how to get world drops if you’re appealing to a new player, or even a new build that incorporates the exotic with some interesting twist, but this just doesn’t make sense. Anyone could inspect it in collections and be just as informed, and then keep inspecting other exotics you also might write about. Keep searching.
