Ingredients
Ingredients are needed to bake all of the recipes for The Dawning this year and deliver the goods to the NPCs throughout the system. This is essential if you want to make the most of the Christmas event. While Eva Levante has some bounties that offer guaranteed drops, you can collect ingredients from enemies. Check out our lists of ingredients and the methods for gathering them here.
Uncommon Ingredients
Vex Milk – Collected by killing Vex, so you might try Mercury, Io, Nessus, Mars, or The Tangled Shore.
Ether Cane – Collected by killing Fallen, so try the EDZ, Nessus, Titan, Tangled Shore, or the Moon.
Cabal Oil – Collected by killing Cabal, so try Mars, The Tangled Shore, Io, Mercury, and the EDZ.
Chitin Powder – Collected by killing Hive, so try the Moon, Mars, Titan, the Dreaming City, and The Tangled Shore.
Taken Butter – Collected by killing Taken, so try the Dreaming City, EDZ, and Io.
Dark Ether Cane – Collected by killing Scorn, so try The Tangled Shore and Dreaming City.
Rare Ingredients
Delicious Explosions – Collected from explosive kills with Grenades, Rocket Launchers, or Grenade Launchers.
Sharp Flavour – Collected from Sword kills.
Impossible Heat – Collected from Solar kills.
Electric Flavour – Collected from Arc kills.
Null Taste – Collected from Void kills.
Flash of Inspiration – Collected by generating Orbs of Light with Supers and Masterworked weapons.
Personal Touch – Collected from Melee kills.
Perfect Taste – Collected from precision kills.
Bullet Spray – Collected from kills with Auto Rifles, Machine Guns, and SMGs.
Finishing Touch – Collected from Finishing Moves.
Multifaceted Flavours – Collected from multikills.
Pinch of Light – Collected by generating Orbs of Light.
Balanced Flavours – Collected from kills with Bows, Sniper Rifles, and Scout Rifles.
Superb Texture – Collected from kills with your Super.
The Dawning 2019 Recipes
Eva Levante will start you off with some recipes, but you need to know all of them to make the most of the holiday event. Every recipe needs an Uncommon Ingredient, a Rare Ingredient, and 15 Essence of Dawning. Essence is easy, it’ll drop from everything you do in Destiny 2 while the event is live, but Eva’s bounties award a tonne of the stuff. There are a lot of recipes to bake, so get on this early, here’s the list of all of them.

Completing every recipe will Masterwork the oven and allow you to bake things with just 10 Essence of Dawning from then on.
How to Give Riven the Thousand-Layer Cookie
This one is understandably a bit tricky. To give Riven her baked good you need to head into the Last Wish raid, and input Wish Seven in the Wishing Wall. That will take you to the Riven boss fight, and from here you’ll need to drop down into her chamber. Near where you land should be a snow globe (see below image), walk over to it. Here you can offer and give the Thousand-Layer Cookie to Riven.
How to Give Saint-14 The Lavender Ribbon Cookies
At the time of writing we don’t have a way to give Saint-14 these cookies. As soon as we do we will update the guide here and let you know about it! What we can say is that we’re sure it’s only a matter of time and advancing the Season of Dawn storyline.
How to Give The Visage of Calus The Fried Sha-dough
Head to the Tribute Hall on Nessus. The Visage of Calus is the big old golden statue of Calus, give him the baked goods and get out of there.
How to Earn The Cold Front Submachine Gun
The very first part of The Dawning 2019 tasks you with baking something for Zavala. Eva gives you all the ingredients in the Tower, and he’s right there next to her. The gift Zavala gives you is your first Cold Front, and you can earn more by participating in The Dawning this year.
