Iron Banner Cast In Iron Quest Guide For Point Of The Stag

Point of the Stag is the Legendary Bow that Guardians can earn from the Iron Banner during Season of the Worthy. It’s new, and it’s exciting, but it also has a quest associated with it to make it a bit more of a challenge. This is a quick guide to help you understand how to complete that quest as quickly as possible.

The quest is split up into steps, and you’ll unlock the next one as you complete the previous one. You can carry progress over the course of the season, so you won’t miss out just because you didn’t get the weapon this week.

Step 1 – Super Smelting

  • Get 3 Super kills
  • Defeat 30 Opponents
  • Capture 10 zones

This one is dead easy. You’ll naturally rack up the zone captures if you play the game mode and capture as many as possible in each match. The Super kills will also be pretty easy, as long as you use your Super in each match. Killing 30 opponents might be where you stumble, but if you keep on playing Iron Banner matches then you’ll eventually get there.

Step 2 – Clear The Cylinders

  • Complete 6 matches
  • Capture 20 zones
  • Get 25 final blows with Hand Cannons

Here’s where things get tricky. Once again, the zones will be easy to rack up as long as you play the game mode. The same is true of the matches, just make sure you don’t quit any early and you’ll be golden.

Getting those 25 final blows is going to take some time if you don’t have a good Hand Cannon. Power Level is switched on in Iron Banner, so you need your strongest weapon. Maybe equip your best Exotic Hand Cannon, like Eriana’s Vow or Crimson, and upgrade the Power Level by sacrificing whatever your other most powerful weapon is. If you’re not fussed about completing this quest quickly, then I wouldn’t worry and just use any old Hand Cannon.

Step 3 – Heat The Barrels

  • Defeat 100 opponents in the Iron Banner
  • Capture 30 zones
  • Get 30 final blows with SMGs

30 zones is not a problem, as long as you play the game mode. Defeating 100 opponents is going to take some time, but if you think of it as more of a bounty completion quest, by picking up as many relevant bounties as you can, the time will fly by. For the final step, refer to what I mentioned above about the Hand Cannons, but instead try to use an SMG like The Huckleberry.

Step 4 – Harness The Elements

  • Get 15 Super kills
  • Capture 40 zones
  • Get 15 final blows with Fusion Rifles

At this point, the steps will take longer to progress. 15 Super kills will be easy, but 40 zone captures is going to take a couple of evenings. As for Fusion Rifles, just relax. Equip whatever Fusion Rifle you have, and try to get the kills where you can. I guarantee that if you pay attention with your Power ammo and use the Fusion Rifle when you can, you’ll complete that part of this step before the others.

Step 5 – Sharpen The Arrows

  • Get 10 final blows with Bows
  • Complete 15 matches
  • Capture 50 zones

This is another step that’s more of a grind than a task. Keep going for those zones. In fact, if you focus on just capturing zones and completing matches, you’ll be through this step a lot faster than you think. Bows are great, and you’ll easily get the final blows with them if you use something like The Vow.

Step 6 – Polish The Armour

This step literally just requires you to chat to Lord Saladin, and he’ll give you Point of the Stag. We’ll get an in-depth look at the Legendary Bow up on the site soon.

Let us know if you managed to get the weapon this week in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
