Two-Tailed Fox is Wreaking Havoc in Destiny 2’s Vault of Glass

Destroy the boss in four seconds flat.

There’s another glitch in Destiny 2, but this time it’s with a weapon you might not expect. Two-Tailed Fox is melting a particular boss in Vault of Glass, but it’s not very clear why. It seems like this will be a glitch that’s basically impossible to replicate, but for now it is another noteworthy weapon that can potentially break Destiny 2 in a completely unintended way.

The glitch was made public by YouTuber Luckyy 10p. He discovered that when taking on the Templar he and his fireteam absolutely destroyed the boss in way too little time. In all, it took about four seconds to kill the boss, and this was all thanks to Two-Tailed Fox. The damage counters on-screen didn’t represent the actual damage being dealt, and that meant that the actual damage was basically a quarter of health for every Guardian. It’s a nutty thing to watch.

So as you can see, you can use the Two-Tailed Fox to destroy the boss in pretty much one damage phase. It’s not that difficult, as long as your Guardians are up to the right Power Level. However, this glitch was way more than that, and it’s repeatable.

After a lot of practise, the Guardians here found that they were able to deal an unreasonable amount of damage to the boss by all firing Two-Tailed Fox at once. As long as multiple Guardians are doing this, the damage is going to be insane. It’s not known why this happens, but it could have something to so with the game registering all the hits from a single weapon instead of multiples, dealing an increased amount of damage over what’s shown on-screen from the shots.

If this is a case of the Templar being the only boss this works on, then Bungie will probably quietly fix it later on. If, however, Guardians manage to figure out how this works and replicate it on every boss, then there’s going to be trouble. Bungie will almost certainly get on this as soon as possible, and remove the glitch, if not the weapon, to avoid Destiny 2 being as broken as Telesto.

Let us know if you’ve managed to replicate this bug on any other bosses in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
