Lucky Pants are About to get Much Luckier in Destiny 2

In last week’s This Week at Bungie update post, we got a look at even more changes that are coming in Season 15. Within these changes were a few Exotics that are getting updated, and this turned out to be way more exciting than I thought it could be. Usually, Bungie updates Exotics with really minor changes that have barely any gameplay implications except to those at the highest level in PVP or raids. However, Lucky Pants is getting an update that will intrinsically change how Hunters interact with Hand Cannons, and it’s going to make us so much more interesting as a class.

First, there’s going to be an Intrinsic Hand Cannon Holster Mod. This mod is going to replace the previous functionality of Lucky Pants with a big change that is so worth chasing.

The updated mod makes it so that when you ready a fully-loaded Hand Cannon, one that deals Kinetic damage or an elemental damage type matching your Subclass, it’ll deal sequentially increasing damage for every shot for a very short period of time. Each hit will boost the damage you deal for this period of time, meaning you can absolutely waste an enemy if you’re quick and have the right Hand Cannon.

Hawkmoon won’t be able to destroy a boss in a single shot, that’s been confirmed, but every other Hand Cannon will now have an incredible advantage for Hunters who love them.

Okay, so let that sink in for a bit. Your Hand Cannons are now so much more viable in the hands of Hunters because Lucky Pants are our Exotic. They’ve been pretty useless for a while now, but this is going to make them so much more viable to run with.

Honestly, I think this will change the way Hunters approach their loadouts from Season 15 onwards. It’s hard to see another Exotic coming along to replace Lucky Pants now. I might be wrong though because we’ve got The Witch Queen on the horizon to look forward to.
