Is Savathun Helping us Fight A Worm God in Destiny 2 Season of the Lost?
What could be worse than her?
We got a pretty creepy yet concise message from Savathun recently. She told us how she’s been controlling Osiris since, well pretty much since he lost his Light. Through him, she brought us Uldren, prevented another Red War, Saved the House of Light, and revealed the hidden enemies in the Tower. She’s been protecting us, helping us battle against the foes in our midst, and now she’s acting like a friend. But why is that?
One big theory right now is that Savanthun is helping us out because she wants us to battle with a colossal Worm God. At the end of the cutscene above, you can see what appears to be a Worm God wrapping itself around the Traveler. I take this to mean that a Worm God has desires for the power of Light, as they all do. These are powerful beings after all, strong enough to give Savathun immortality and help her create her own race of Guardians. I wonder if this season will see her, and a Worm God, grasp the power of the Traveler though.
We’ve killed a Worm God in Warmind. It’s a pretty good fight and story, but that was just a baby. That Worm God wasn’t one that anyone thought was worth much. Sure, it controlled the icy Hive on Mars, but it’s pretty useless otherwise. The Worm God I think we’re going to be facing is the master that the Taken now server. After all, we’ve been notified that their allegiance has changed.
Savathun is serving herself here though. Let’s not forget that. It think she wants us to battle the Taken and kill this Worm God so that she can step in and take the power of the Traveler and destroy us. All that she’s done has been leading to this point. If we don’t kill this Worm God, there’s no chance she’ll succeed. Remember that she won’t make her Hive Guardians until next year, so she still needs to grow to that point.
That’s why I reckon we’re killing a Worm God. Let us know what you think in the comments.

I simply don’t see this being the case. Past lore has shown us that the worm “gods” themselves are instruments of the darkness and not the actual darkness. In the books of sorrow after oOryx kills Akka and steals the ability to commune with the deep “The Darkness” we are showing the darkness is an actual being with the very least has a central persona. With which Queen being amongst the last three big DLCs in the light and dark saga I would think we would meet him/her/it sooner than later.
