Have you Noticed the Broken Pyramid in Savathun's Throne World in Destiny 2 The Witch Queen

The reveal for Destiny 2 The Witch Queen was full of all sorts of unexpected stuff. At the top of the list though, is Savathun’s Throne World. That place looks wild, filled with pocket realities that have their own rules that Guardians must abide by. Of course, there are also the Guardian Hive that stalk this realm, and they’re so far from friendly. However, there’s one thing that I don’t see a lot of Guardians talking about, and that’s the smashed up Pyramid in the throne world.

Darkness Pyramids are a bit of an anomaly. We don’t really know how they work, and the only time we’ve been inside of one, it feels like we almost died. The story of Shadowkeep saw us head inside, our Ghost got spooked, and we met a copy of ourselves that appeared to want to help us. It seems very much like something Savathun would do, but we know that she’s not necessarily pure Darkness. In fact, she says herself that she and the Guardians are paracausal, existing without consequences.

I believe that the destroyed Pyramid is where Savathun stole the power to create Guardian Hive. I don’t see how she could take that power from the Traveler, so it must have come from the Pyramids. COnsidering that we got Stasis from one, I don’t think this is too much of a stretch.

There’s also the fact that this Pyramid might be fake. The Throne World is a realm that Savathun has created, so it’s not necessarily real. Sure, everything feels real when you’re there, but it’s all a bit wavy. Plus, you can leave and the world sort of stops existing around you, though the rules are still very real for those locked inside of it.

I can’t work out how Savathun could have taken down a Pyramid. Those things seem so ethereal, and they’re even mean to be stronger than the Traveler, at least that’s how I see them. I suspect we’ll learn more as Season of the Lost progresses, but right now, I’m excited to see what we learn about Savathun and how her powers can beat this Darkness we’ve seen so much of.

Let us know what you think of the destroyed Pyramid in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
