Bungie is Collecting Feedback From Destiny 2 Content Creators
Going directly to the source.
Some Destiny 2 content creators have all been sharing similar stories online. Individually, their stories would seem like a load of rubbish. Together though, they’re all coming together to form a very interesting picture. One that shows Bungie to be a conscientious developer that really cares about its community. If Season of the Chosen has taught me anything, it’s that Bungie is exactly that already.
So what am I talking about? Well, a bunch of creators, including GernaderJake, CoolGuy, and D_Flawless have all been saying the same thing. Bungie invited them to a digital event in which they got to speak to Destiny 2’s development team. These content creators can’t share what was discussed of course, but they have shared the fact that this event happened.
One of them put the event in one very clear light. These content creators were invited to pitch ideas to the development team that would then go on to form the basis for future content in Destiny 2. They believe that this can only be good for the game, and are incredibly excited by the team’s response to the feedback that was given.
It sounds like some of the planned features were shown, or at least talked about. This has led many of the content creators to express just how excited they are about the game’s future. If they’re excited, then I’m excited. I always see content creators badmouthing the game for lack of meaningful content. It’s nice to see that trend flipped on its head for a change.
Bungie has shifted from being a developer that seemed to barely listen to its community to one that relies on its feedback over the course of the two Destiny games. Part of that was being able to get out of the Activision relationship, but the other part is a learned change in behaviour. As a developer, the company has grown alongside its community, and the community has responded well to almost everything they’ve done.
This news makes me extremely excited for the future of Destiny 2. If a content creator is getting excited about something, then it should mean that it’s going to be awesome. I really can’t think of what this might be, but the anticipation of even more seasons like this one coming to the game is enough to keep me invested for years to come.
