A Guardian In Need: Fundraising For Matt Findley
Get out there and help your fellow Guardian!
A few days ago, Matt Findley the Design Director at Bungie watched his house burn down. While his family came out safe, the family did lose everything they owned in the fire. Matt Findley was on of the designers who helped create the terrifying Corrupted Iron Lords in the climax of Rise of Iron. Now he needs our assistance.
Other Bungie employees have reached out asking for us to aid in helping Matt get back on his feet. This short article is merely a call to action for every Guardian reading this. If you’ve got the extra to donate please consider giving to the Matt Findley fund. To quote Bungie’s Luke Smith,” You know what to do, Guardian.”

This community is one of the best when it comes to supporting great causes. Sometimes there’s a reward in it for us, like those amazing t-shirts we’ve had for the earthquake in Nepal, and more recently the Australian wildfires.
This time, there’s nothing in it for us. We’re just being asked to dig deep to help a Guardian in need. It’s not much to ask when you think about how much each and every Bungie employee has put into Destiny 2. These people work tirelessly to support a game we all love, so we should help them out in their time of need. If we have the means to do so.
I can’t imagine how much it must hurt to lose everything. Sure, nobody’s hurt, but everything they owned is gone. All of those trinkets that had sentimental value are now probably ash, reduced to nothingness. Imagine that for a second. How heartbroken would you be if that happened to even one object that you hold dear?
I think this is what makes this story so hard for me to swallow. Now I have a daughter, there are so many random objects that have special memories to me. If even one of those were to be destroyed, Id’ be distraught.
Let us know what you think of this cause in the comments Guardians. I have no doubt that you’re all helping where you can. At the time of writing the support is already through the roof. Let’s smash it up as high as we can though yea?
