Destiny 2’s Trials Of Osiris Maps Need More Attention

We need very secure maps or no Trials.

Destiny 2's Trials Of Osiris Maps Need More Attention

I’ve written about glitches and exploits in maps in the past. You can find them pretty much everywhere if you really look. That’s only a big issue if Guardians begin to use them in Trials of Osiris. Well, over the weekend the map for Trials had to be changed because Bungie finally realised how broken the map they planned to use was. The map got changed, but who’s to say that the map they moved to didn’t have just as many issues that they weren’t aware of?

I find it crazy that Bungie is still working with what equates to quite a broken framework with Trials of Osiris. The pinnacle PvP activity can be ruined through a number of exploits that Guardians can choose to use. Ultimately, your time with the game mode depends on who you’re facing. You might have a great time, but you could also have a terrible time.

I’m not saying that Bungie needs to work to make every map completely perfect. I imagine that’s quite difficult. However, why not set Trials to a single map and make that perfect? A new map can be added when Bungie is satisfied that it’s perfect, and not before.

If a Guardian can make themselves invincible, jump out of bounds, or exploit glitches somehow, then a map isn’t perfect. For something like Trials, we need perfection. The maps are the base that this highly-competitive game mode is built on. Guardians don’t want to worry about cheaters, they want to focus on using their skills and weapons to win fairly.

I know that this is a complaint that Guardians have been making for years, but with 2021 still nice and fresh, I feel like it’s worth reminding Bungie that they’ve only put a plaster on the wound that is Trials of Osiris. They need to fix the game mode properly in order to please us.

We need maps that work, maybe even fixed loadouts, anything really that will level the playing field and make Trials about skill over glitch knowledge.

Let us know what you think about this in the comments. Do you use the glitches? Or are you a fairer sort of Guardian?

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
