Eververse Ship Shows That Uldren Is Living Like A Hermit

A new piece of lore found on an Eververse ship has shed some light on what happened to Prince Uldren after the events of Forsaken. For those Guardians who haven’t played through the expansion, one of the best there’s ever been, this is your SPOILER WARNING before I stop treading around what happens in the story.

You have been warned.

So we all remember when Prince Uldren shot Cayde-6 and murdered him, and we all remember killing Uldren, though that could have been Petra. Well we all also probably know that Uldren was brought back to life after this, when a wandering Ghost passed by his corpse where it had been laid to rest in The Dreaming City. Uldren rose, and we heard little of him after that, in fact nothing.

Now however, a new item in the Eververse Store, Amnestia-S2, has some lore text that seems to reveal what Uldren is doing nowadays.

This ship is obviously an item related to The Dawning 2019, and it’s sort of appropriate for Uldren’s revival. However, Uldren’s life is far from joyous at this time. He sounds like he’s wandering the streets without any knowledge of who he is, and doesn’t understand why people hate him and will actively attack him.

Now Uldren spends his days avoiding people, hiding his face, and generally questioning his past.

I could see Uldren returning as a character we all have to work with in the future. I believe he was brought back to redeem himself, even though his actions were controlled by Riven, and Savathun by proxy. He’s obviously not the evil Awoken we know from the early Destiny 1 days, when his questionable motives always put us in harms way, and he’s definitely not controlled by Riven anymore.

We know that Savathun is coming to the system, she’s pissed that we’ve killed a good chunk of her family and she wants revenge. Uldren is a great character to disappear into the depths of the system and return with some hidden knowledge that will help us eventually defeat Savathun.

He doesn’t know what he did, but that isn’t why he deserves forgiveness. The Traveller clearly sees something in Uldren that makes him worth bringing back to life, he has a part to play in our story yet, so we need to give him a chance. If you see Uldren this Dawning, do him a favour and wish him a happy New Year.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
