What Will the Epilogue for Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer be?

What stories are about to come to a close?

Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer Roadmap In-Depth Analysis

The end of Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer has an epilogue event that’s actually going to take place two weeks before the season finishes. Some believe that this is going to be a live event in which Guardians head back to the original Tower. While I like that idea, I also think that Bungie is making a more permanent change with this epilogue. Things are going to get sad, but that’s okay.

An Ending

I believe that Bungie has very deliberately labelled the epilogue here because it’s an end to a lot of storylines. I think that we’re going to see the culmination of the Red War storyline, which started with Destiny 2’s launch, and everything will come to a close for a lot of people.

When Destiny 2 launched, the Cabal destroyed the Tower and almost wiped out the Guardians. After we kill Gaul, we claim out light back, but the Cabal are still in the system. It feels like they arrived and never left. Like we’re still battling them for space in a system that’s getting more packed by the day.

This epilogue could well see us all move into the Tower. That would actually be quite cool. I think a live event based around that would involve every Guardian and make for an enjoyable event for Guardians of all skill levels.

The thing is, the story is moving on. The Witch Queen is a call back to a storyline that’s been dormant for a while. We need to get some closure on the Red War, have the Cabal move away, and let’s prepare to focus on the threat that’s coming next.

This epilogue is almost certainly going to be a point at which Bungie removes content. Some things will be replaced, but others will simply be taken out in preparation for the coming expansion. Sure, it’s not set to launch until next year now, but when Season of the Splicer was created, The Witch Ween would have come along pretty soon after it ended.

It’ll be interesting to see what the epilogue ends up being. I think we’re all hoping for a big event every Guardian can take part in. Make sure you let us know your theories on what might happen in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
