How To Get Malfeasance And Spawn The Ascendant Primeval Servitor

malfaesance

Malfaesance is one of the most sought after Exotic weapons in Destiny 2. It’s right up there with Whisper of the Worm and Wish-Ender, but it’s a little more attainable that some of the weapons and gear you have to get from Raids. We’ve put together this little guide to help you acquire this weapon, the antithesis of Ace of Spades, and the good news is you should be able to do it with a minimum amount of grinding.

Step 1 – Kill the Ascendant Primeval Servitor in Gambit

This is the real grind for this Exotic weapon quest. In Gambit you have to summon a Primeval in order to win a match, which you do if you manage to kill it. Every now and then you’ll summon the Ascendant Primeval Servitor, which will drop The Seething Heart if you kill it, which starts the Exotic Quest. The problem here is actually summoning the thing, because it’s quite rare. The best tip here is to try every third week, when the Curse has gripped the Dreaming City and everything is as dark as it can be. At this point there will be a higher chance of summoning the Primeval you seek. Other than that it’s all about playing Gambit until you drop or the right enemy drops, good luck.

Step 2 – Speak to The Drifter in the Tower

While this bit is tedious it’s also essential. After speaking to The Drifter he’ll tell you that you need to find and kill 25 Taken bosses or mini-bosses.

Step 3 – Defeat 25 Taken bosses and mini-bosses

These guys just need to be Taken with yellow health bars, which you can find in a few places. Strikes, Public Events, Story Missions, and The Dreaming City are your best bets for locating these enemies.

Step 4 – Complete the Strike ‘The Corrupted’

This is a special version of The Corrupted Strike. Up to 6 players can complete this Strike, though only three of you can go in initially with three others able to join you in the middle. Bungie say that the Strike was intended for three players, so you should be able to do it with your normal group of Guardians.

Step 5 – Deposit Motes and win matches in Gambit

This one is tricky, you’ve got to win matches and deposit Motes, but don’t you lose any! Any Motes lost in a match, say from dying, will be deducted from your total, but at a ratio of 1:2. Basically don’t lose, play lots of Gambit and win.

Step 6 – Defeat 25 enemy Guardians in Gambit, and team wipe either as an invader yourself or have an ally do it three times

In order to defeat Guardians in Gambit you have to either be invading the enemy team, or have them invade you. Killing 25 enemies isn’t too difficult as long as you take advantage of the portal to the enemy arena while it’s open. When it comes to wiping the enemy team you’re best to invade with a Super ready, preferably one that you could get every enemy Guardian at once with. This is probably the hardest step, but if you play enough Gambit you’ll easily make this work.

Once that’s all complete it’s time to visit The Drifter again and get your reward! Once you see him Malfeasance will be yours.

Let us know how you get on in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
