Heir Apparent is once again up for grabs in Destiny 2. You can pick it up by playing the game during Guardian Games 2021 and completing the returning quest to grab it. Once you have it, the Catalyst is yours for the taking, but you need to earn it first. This is where you need to put in some work. In this guide, we’ll explain exactly how to get the Heir Apparent Catalyst so you can strut your stuff with it soon.
All About Medals
This quest is about collecting Medals. You’re going to be grabbing these as part of the Guardian Games anyway, so you may as well pursue the quest at the same time.
First, pick up the Catalyst quest. This can drop from pretty much anything as soon as you have Heir Apparent. If you don’t have the quest, then you probably don’t have Heir Apparent in your roster of fantastic Exotic weapons. Pick it up and get moving to get this Catalyst quest to drop.
You need to earn a total of 50 Medals to activate the Catalyst. You can only do this during Guardian Games, so you need to get the Catalyst quest to drop as soon as possible. Don’t worry, you should have more than enough time to put in the effort if you’re starting early. Even if you’re late, you could just play instead of sleep, and that will earn you those 50 Medals pretty swiftly.
Following the 50 Medals, you need to complete three Contender Cards. You can buy these from Eva Levante at 100 Laurels each. They’ve all got various requirements, so you should start picking them up and completing them as soon as you can.
The final part of this quest is to get 90 Competitive Spirit by killing enemies with Machine Guns. Since you’ve already got Heir Apparent, this shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.
All of that will get you the Catalyst, but it’s not over just yet. To activate it fully, you need to get 700 kills with the weapon. This can be completed outside of the Guardian Games though, so there’s no real need to push through and get this done right away. Just keep the weapon equipped and you’ll rack up those kills soon enough.
The Catalyst increases the weapon’s shield strength. An added bonus is that the weapon will be partially reloaded when the shield is destroyed. That’s quite a good Catalyst if you ask me. Of course, it does what all other Catalysts do and generates Orbs of Light for multi-kills as well.
Let us know if you manage to pick this Catalyst up in the comments. It’s a pretty damn exciting one. It’s just a shame that it looks so terrible.
