New Image Teases Destiny 2 Plus Expansions on Xbox Game Pass for PC
Load up you Guardian wherever you Game Pass subscription allows.
Destiny 2 and a bunch of expansions are currently available on Xbox Game Pass. It’s how I’ve been playing Destiny 2 for the most part, because the Xbox Series X is a powerhouse for running that game. However, all this time, the game hasn’t been available on the PC version of the subscription. I don’t know the ins and outs of the issues surrounding this, but I imagine everything Bungie had to do to get the game running on Steam probably exacerbated things. Now though, it looks like there’s hope for a PC iteration of the Xbox Game Pass version.
Take this with a pinch of salt since it’s not from the original source. However, as you can see, Xbox Game Pass is bragging about working on Bringing Destiny 2 plus the expansions to Xbox Game Pass for PC later this year. There’s even a Guardian with a new icon, indicating that the game is already running through this service in some form.
The implications of this are massive. Xbox Game Pass is incredibly popular as a service both on Xbox and PC. It’s something I prefer over buying most new games for either because I get a chance to try them out early and decide if I want to invest. With a game like Destiny 2, there’s so much content to explore. Despite it already being free-to-play, the free expansions are what will make this the place to play on PC.
Bungie has worked well with both Steam and Stadia to get Destiny 2 running on almost any device. However, PC is still a bit a touchy place to play. Not only are there issues getting the visuals up to date, caused by the pandemic, there’s a disconnect between the community on PC and all other devices. Console seems to be superior for once when in reality, the entire community is what’s superior.
I think that the fact that Microsoft is showing this off through an official channel indicates that the PC version of Destiny 2 on Xbox Game Pass is basically there. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start hearing about it this month through This Week at Bungie updates, and even get a little look on August 24 with The Witch Queen reveal.
Let us know what you think in the comments, and tell us if you play on Xbox Game Pass too.

Does this mean that Witch Queen could come to game pass?
