Make Farming Specific Exotics A Full Feature In Destiny 2

Give us the power to grind for gear we want.

Beyond Light added Legend and Master Lost Sectors to Destiny 2. These are a fantastic new way to grind for and earn Exotic loot, and have been pretty well received by Guardians. However, one content creator out there has now uncovered a way to guarantee the type of Exotic armor you can earn from these activities, and I reckon it should be a full-on feature in the game.

As you can see in the video above, the system is pretty easy to game. All you need to do is fill up the inventory space for the Exotic you need to drop. You also need to have no space for more Engrams. Then, work through the activity and grind for the Exotic to drop. It doesn’t matter if it isn’t the one you need, it’ll go to the Postmaster.

After that, you can leave the Engram with the Postmaster until the activity you’ve been grinding is awarding the Exotic you want. Then, when you open the Engram, you’ll get that shiny new Exotic you were after.

This is a really convoluted way for Guardians to help themselves fill up their collection of Exotics. However, it’s too difficult. While it’s certainly easier than relying on RNG, it’s not enough. Bungie should add a system into the game that allows you to chase those new Exotics that you want specifically.

Every Guardian has a different reason for playing Destiny 2. For some, it’s the community, for others it’s the incredible PvE or PvP, and more still love the story. Some of us just want to collect, and that’s so much harder when the RNG doesn’t work in our favor.

An activity that’s tough but fair, and awards a specific Exotic each week, would be fantastic. Guardians would have a chance every week to earn a new Exotic, even if they already own it. This would help Guardians complete their collections, and work towards a future where Fashion Guardians is a show the whole world can enjoy.

I love the idea of being able to grind for every brand new Exotic and get it within a season. Some activities don’t interest me, so some are locked off. An activity that makes them available to everyone would be perfect. Even if the Exotics you earn through it have some sort of blemish to show that they weren’t earned through the true method. Maybe those that were can drop with an Ornament too.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
