Come on Bungie, send us up!

Destiny 2 Needs More Missions In Space

Before I get into this article, it does contain a mild spoiler for Deep Stone Crypt. To be honest, I may have spoiled the opening for it already. If you don’t want to have anymore of the raid spoiled for you, then why don’t you use our Deep Stone Crypt guide to actually get through the raid first. With that out of the way, those of you who are still with me can enjoy me asking Bungie for more of what we see when we start the raid from Beyond Light.

Space

As I said, this is all about the Deep Stone Crypt raid, but specifically the space station section. This is a gorgeous area of the game, and it’s got the best music I’ve heard in Destiny 2 in all my years playing in this universe. there’s somehting so calming that’s at odds with what’s going on in the game.

This has made me, and a bunch of other Guardians, think that we need more space in our Destiny 2 missions from now on. There simply isn’t enough of it. Sure, we get to go moon and planet-hopping around the system, but the only time we spend in space is inside our ships. This is the first in-game moment that’s shown us it’s possible to leap and bound around a space station.

There are loads of things that Guardians could be doing in space, it’s just that we’re not given the chance. If you think about it, The Tangled Shore is pretty much space. It’s a bunch of rocks that have been tied together, there’s barely any atmosphere to speak of.

I think that the Deep Stone Crypt section we all know and love opens the game up for much more space exploration. I’d also love to see some sort of patrol sandbox made up of different sections in space. These could be a destroyed spaceship, moon, or maybe even the top of the Dreadnought that’s just sitting there in Saturn’s rings? Why not just give us a section of the rings to run around on as well?

There are so many possibilities if we can run around in space, and Bungie needs to capitalise on this as much as possible moving forward. Let us know what you think in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.

We’ve had spaceships since day one and never actually get to fight or play with them.
