How to Get and Open Solstice Packages in Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2021

Some advice for getting them and when to open them up.

How to Get and Open Solstice Packages in Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2021

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2021 is now upon us once more, and it’s more of the same I’m afraid. Bungie doesn’t seem to be iterating too much on its tried and tested formula for in-game events, something that hasn’t always paid off in the past, but this is still something interesting to chase. For those of you who may be new to the event, it’s a celebration of the past year of victories and opens up the European Aerial Zone for us to delve into and pillage for bosses and loot once more. You’ll earn some particularly good loot from this event, and that’s what we’re going to discuss: Solstice Packages.

How to Get Solstice Packages

Solstice Packages are effectively guaranteed rewards from the EAZ. You’ll need to head into the activity and kill as many bosses as you can within the time limit. After that, a bunch of chests are going to spawn across the map. You have to open as many of them as you can, and the rewards will be split between every Guardian in the area. You’ll get Glimmer and Key Fragments from these chests, but you’ll also pick up Solstice Packages.

The more you play the activity, the more Solstice Packages you’ll earn. That’s just how it works. This is a matter of grinding for all of the loot that you want from the event. It’s also a nice side effect of powering through the activity for your Solstice of Heroes armor. The more you play, the more you’ll get, and that’s ultimately what everyone wants.

How to Open Solstice Packages

Solstice Packages are packed with a lot of stuff, but the loot you’re after is Enhancement Cores. You’ll be able to Masterwork weapons and armor with these, and they’re very much worth collecting because of it. To open a Solstice Package, you need to spend 15 Key Fragments. You’ll also pick these up from chests in the event’s activity, but they’re not quite as abundant as you’ll need them to be. Not to worry though, because you’ll get more if you push through and grind out the event.

However, you should hold off from opening all of your Solstice Packages at once. While it might be tempting, there are requirements on your Solstice of Heroes armor that need you to open a certain number of Solstice Packages. Open them as you go through each stage with your armor, and then have a blowout at the end with all of the Solstice Packages that you have left in your inventory.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
