Trials of Osiris was Almost Cancelled in Destiny 2 Again
It’s ridiculous that this happens almost every week.
Over the weekend, Trials of Osiris almost got cancelled once again. The activity isn’t really known for being completely bug-free, but it is known for being one of the best challenges in Destiny 2. Even if win-trading is definitely a thing. this week though, things almost got entirely out of hand. I feel like we owe it to the community to document this because of how silly it is that we’re seeing something similar pretty much every week.
Infinite Super Glitch
The crux of this glitch is that it allows Guardians to infinitely extend their Super if performed properly. In Trials of Osiris, you only really get your Super once in a match, twice if you’re lucky. That’s because each round is so short and sweet, and you’re not actually killing that many enemies across each one. If you think about it, there are only three enemies per round, and you can go through rounds being carried by another Guardian, getting no kills. So you might not even get to use your Super once.
This glitch allows you to extend your Super forever across all game modes, and that, unfortunately included Trials of Osiris. There’s a video on it below, but we won’t be covering the exact method here because we don’t want to encourage it.
While it’s all restricted to Warlocks, it’s still a glitch that can ruin Trials of Osiris. Any match can instantly be turned around by a Warlock using it, and there’s no telling who will want to win legitimately, who won’t, and who will just use it because they think their enemy will anyway. It’s an impossible scenario.
Thankfully, Bungie disabled the particular aspect that enabled this glitch. That allowed Trials of Osiris to go ahead, and as far as I know, nothing else big went down. The activity was only just allowed to go ahead though because if Bungie couldn’t have disabled the aspect, we all know the game mode would have been disabled for a week or so.
Trials of Osiris is broken in many ways, but the number of glitches that pop up and make it impossible to enjoy is the biggest way in which it’s broken. Bungie can’t fix all of these glitches as and when they appear, and win-trading sows that no one actually cares about playing properly. We need a new pinnacle PvP game mode. Bungie should stop applying plasters to this very deep wound in Destiny 2 and come out with a limb replacement.
Let us know what you think about this latest glitch in the comments.
