What We Know About Destiny 2 Season of the Hunt

Diving deep into all the information we have on Season of the Hunt so far.

What We Know About Destiny 2 Season of the Hunt
Season of the Hunt roadmap

On October 27th, we received the newest look into Beyond Light with the Bungie ViDoc: Forging the Storm. While the bulk of the video was meant to cover Beyond Light, Eramis, Stasis, and the return of the Exo Stranger; the back quarter revealed Destiny 2: Season 14. Titled the Season of the Hunt, this season sees our Guardians going to familiar places to dismantle hive cryptoglyphs that are making nearby enemies go berserk. With the inaugural idea of the season done let’s breakdown what’s coming in Season 14.

Xivu Arath is the Big Bad

Xivu Arath by Roaving Neophyte

Xivu Arath, as referenced in my Savathûn article, is the third and youngest daughter of the Osmium King. Formerly know as Xi Ro, the hive god would take on the knight morph after her siblings took on the king and mother morphs. Given her newfound power Xivu Arath would be deemed the War God of the Hive and, while very reclusive to our story, would aid the hive in conquering planets for breeding grounds.

Uldren Sov Returns

Uldren Sov & Pork-Chop

At the end of the Forsaken campaign it looked as if we ended the reign of the Forsaken Prince, but through the visions in the Queen’s Court we would discover that a lone ghost, known as Pork-Chop, had chosen Cayde’s killer as his Guardian. Uldren has appeared in the lore leading up to this season; mostly as a scared Guardian who hides his face. In the ViDoc we watch as Osiris is knocked down by a Knight going berserk; it seems as though the knight may win as a sword pierces its chest; revealing Uldren Sov or as Osiris knows calls him The Crow. The Crow and Pork-Chop seem to be under the Spider’s employment seeing as his logo is brandished on Uldren’s cloak. This story should get more fleshed out as the season progresses.

Osiris Left the Forest

Osiris reduced by The Crow

During the Curse of Osiris, we encountered the former Warlock vanguard for the first time to aid him in taking down Panoptes. Since then we have helped the Phoenix bring back and old friend in the form of Saint-14, watched him challenge the Warmind Rasputin, and heard rumors of him planting the seed for the tree of silver wings. Now Osiris has come to seek our aid in taking down strange hive structures influencing the behaviors of our enemies. Could he be training Uldren in the ways of being a Guardian?

Zavala has allied with the Cabal

Little is known on this image other than that Osiris, Zavala, and the Cabal are discussing the Pyramids. So whether we wanted it or not we’ve stepped into an alliance with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking down those Pyramids.

Return to the Dreaming City

Since the end of Forsaken and Year 2 we haven’t seen much of the awoken homeland. With no new activities many questioned why the city was staying and not being vaulted. Seeing as Xivu Arath’s hive are running rampant in the Dreaming City, there’s no better time than now to take action and reclaim the homeland once more.

Seasonal Missions Begin 11/17

With Beyond Light rolling out on November 10th with new stories, strikes, subclasses, and more, it’s only fair that we get a week long period to complete that content before traversing into the Hunt. Starting November 17th Guardians will begin assisting Uldren and Osiris as they study the Xivu Arath and her brood. Of the information here, what are you most excited for this season? Personally I’m stoked to see how our Guardians interact with Uldren, but we still have almost three weeks until we know for sure.

I am, what many would call, a Destiny veteran spanning back to when we first dropped into the Hellmouth to take out Crota. In the coming years I would realize this game was a focal point in the development of my life creating many memories with friends and even helping pull me through some of the roughest patches I went through. When I’m not playing Destiny or writing, however, I’m working as a 3rd shift CNA or effortlessly teaching my fiancé how to play as well (hang in there baby you’re doing great). That’s about all I have to say. Hope you enjoy!!!
