Zavala Has A Banging Mixtape

If you’ve completed the Exotic quest for The fourth Horseman, you may already have come across this gem of a mixtape. Those of you who haven’t though, you’re in for a treat.

Zavala’s Workout Tunes

It seems like Zavala needs music to get pumped for a hard workout in the Crucible as much as we do. A few Guardians have discovered his workout mixtape in his office when they head there on the quest to grab the latest legacy Exotic in Destiny 2, added with Season of the Worthy. We’ve actually found a video to help you locate it in Zavala’s office, and play it of course. If you feel like it, just leave the sound playing while you work, it’s mad.

This is probably the best Easter Egg I’ve seen in a Destiny game for the last year or two. It’s like Bungie thought of the most absurd situation to put Zavala in, and then doubled down on it. This big blue giant of an Awoken man looks buff, but you never think about him working out.

After finding this mixtape and listening to it, I can’t stop imagining what Zavala must look like when he works out. I bet he wears ridiculous gym clothes, lycra three-quarter bottoms, with a crop top. Seriously, this guy is so huge there is no way he’s wearing a normal workout top. I also imagine that the top says something mental like “Juicy”, just a relic of the past he came across in a safe somewhere.

Zavala is one of the most serious characters in Destiny history. He might make the odd joke, or show his soft side every now and then, but for the most part he is as stern as a brick wall. It’s nice to see the human side of him bleeding through here, without making a complete joke of the guy. It would be so easy to go overboard with the fun side of this Easter Egg, but thankfully Bungie hasn’t done that.

I really enjoyed this small part of the quest to grab The Fourth Horseman, and I hope that there are more Easter Eggs like it to be found in the rest of the season. Let us know what you think of it in the comments.
