Crimson Days Returning In Destiny 2

After a leak on the Destiny Subreddit it has now been confirmed by Destiny 2 Community Manager Chris Shannon that Crimson Days is coming to Destiny 2 around Valentine’s Day this year. The event didn’t return to Destiny 1 last year, but as part of Bungie’s continued commitment to regular events it’s returning to Destiny 2 in 2018.

Crimson Days was the first event to come from the Live Events team. During Crimson Days Guardians were able to take part in a new Crucible Mode, Crimson Doubles. This mode is a 2 v 2 Crucible match, in which Bungie developers imagined couples teaming up against other couples in the ultimate form of Destiny bonding.

As part of the original event Guardians could complete exclusive quests and earn rewards that couldn’t be earned from anywhere else in Destiny 1. These rewards became some of the most coveted in the game, and now we’re about to have an influx of completely new ones.

The last Crimson Days event came under fire from fans for being too short, particularly as the first live event to come along. Bungie will be discussing the Destiny 2 version of Crimson Days in their update tomorrow, hopefully revealing a lot more content as well as something to keep Guardians way more engaged with the live event.

Among the rewards that were datamined according to the source on the Destiny Subreddit are Ghost Shells, Emotes, Ornaments, Shaders, Mods, Transmat Effects, and Sparrows.

I for one would love to get my hands on a Crimson Days Sparrow, but I don’t have anyone to play in the event with because my Wife doesn’t play video games. On this note, I would like to see a Crimson Days event that Guardians can take part in completely on their own. Bungie has said in the past that they want Destiny 2 to be accessible to all players, including Guardians like me who play solo most of the time. If Crimson Days is exclusive to pairs, and there is no matchmaking for solo players, I will be extremely disappointed in Bungie.

One last thing I will put out there is that there has been a huge amount of controversy around Eververse and The Dawning. If Bungie don’t do something about this to appease those who think they’re being treated unfairly in the drops, then this could be the beginning of the end for Destiny 2 in 2018. Let us know what you think in the comments.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
