Xur’s Location and Inventory for February 10th and 11th 2017

xur

Who is Xur?

Xur Agent Of The Nine, works for the mysterious group, The Nine. While Guardians have never seen The Nine, it is said that their influence is vast. Xur, the moss-tentacle-faced vendor visits social spaces once a week, bringing with him a variety of exotic items, which Guardians can purchase with Strange Coins.

Xur’s Location

This week you can find Xur hanging out in the Hanger! This area has been quite the centre of attention recently with lots of Destiny 2 news leaking via Mega Bloks sets, and Bungie employee conference calls. Can you see any Cabal? Anyway, If you head right from spawn at The Tower, go down the corridor towards the Hanger, and turn right at the bottom of the first flight of stairs, you’ll find Xur skulking around with his tentacles in full view.

Xur’s Inventory

Exotic Weapon: Hawkmoon (Exotic Hand Cannon) 23 Strange Coins

Hawkmoon’s Exotic Perks are Holding Aces, which make two random bullets from your magazine deal considerable bonus damage, and Luck in the Chamber, giving one bullet at random considerable bonus damage. With a magazine of 13, you can be sure to be dealing a lot of damage.

Hawkmoon is still a viable weapon today for both PVP and PVE, not least because of its primary perks that deal randomly increased damage. The only struggle you’ll have is getting all of those bullets out before someone puts you down, but the draw speed is so fast that you should be the one firing first in any showdowns.

Exotic Gauntlets: No Backup Plans (Titan class) 13 Strange Coins

These gauntlets grant a Force Barrier when you make a kill with a shotgun, but they also increase the duration of your Force Barrier. For anyone who still likes running around in PVP with their shotgun out and their sliding boots on, these could be a viable addition to your loadout. This week the roll is Intelligence 54, only 3 off of Max, and Strength 51, which is only just above half the max of 92. If you’re running an Intelligence build then these are the Gauntlets to get.

Exotic Helmet: Skyburners Annex (Hunter Class) 13 Strange Coins

This helmet has a pretty special perk that rolls through benefits. Primarily it will generate Orbs from Heavy Weapon kills. Should you not have a full Super, then your Super meter will fill up as usual. If however you do have full Super energy, collecting these and other Orbs has a change to generate Special Ammo. This helmet would work great in conjunction with an exotic primary, as you won’t need Invective or Icebreaker to regenerate Special Ammo over time, as long as your rockets hit their targets. This week the roll is Intelligence 91, out of 101 Max. Again, this is perfect for an Intelligence build.

Exotic Helmet: Apotheosis Veil (Warlock Class) 13 Strange Coins

This helmet regenerates health, melee and grenade energy immediately after activating your Super. This is great for when you’re in a pinch both in PVP, and particularly tough Raids. this week the helmet packs Intelligence 62, out of 104 max, and discipline 64, out of a max of 65. For this helmet I’d actually say hold off unless you’re trying for a discipline build.

Legacy Engram: (Exotic Body Armour) 29 Strange Coins – The Legacy Engram will decode for a Year 1 or 2 piece of armour to complete your collection. Some of these items can be infused to Year 3 Light Level.

Three Of Coins (Consumable) 7 Strange Coins

Plasma Drive (Consumable) 23 Strange Coins

Emerald Coil (Consumable) 23 Strange Coins

Heavy Ammo Sythesis Consumable) 3 Strange Coins

Glass Needles (Consumable) 3 Strange Coins, 3 Motes Of Light, and 1 Exotic Shard

Our Take

This week is great for anyone running an intelligence build who needs some Exotic armour. With that said, the Hawkmoon is not to be shunned. This gun used to be the best Hand Cannon in the game, and while that may still be true, its nowhere near as good as it was. If you don’t feel that any of the armour is going to add to you main guardian, then hold off on them and buy this gun because it will work wonders in PVP and Raids. With that said you may already have it, in which case you need to decide if Intelligence or Discipline are more important to you, then pick the appropriate armour as long as it will fit your character. Finally, if you’re building up a secondary Guardian, these Exotic armours are a great way to boost their Light level without needing to grind for hours. It’s a great way to get ahead on having three max level characters for the rumoured upcoming April Update.

I'm an avid Destiny 2 fan and player. I fell in love with Destiny 1 during the early alpha and have been hooked by the universe ever since. I really enjoy playing with other Guardians, speculating about the lore, and writing about as much of the Destiny universe as I can.
